Description
Mornings on the Pacific Rim are notoriously foggy until about 11:00 a.m. Slowly, the sun warms up the dense atmosphere, and the moisture disappears. The incoming light shines in rays into the fog-covered rainforest, melting away the veil that shrouds it. Glaze layering is used in the painting to recreate the action of this natural phenomenon.
Pacific Rim- Wild Pacific Trail
Art On the Edge
The 4-day mentoring agenda
for acrylic painting takes place in an art studio set in natural surroundings
specifically chosen to inspire painters. The program is designed for both
beginners and experienced artists. For beginners, a step-by-step approach will
be utilized to set up a canvas with a focal point, focusing on color mixing
using primary paints while emphasizing aspects such as color value, color bias,
and temperature. Additionally, other topics will be covered based on the needs
of the attending artists, including techniques for painting still and moving
reflections in water, clouds, and perspective. Each day follows a structured
schedule, beginning with morning painting sessions from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM,
followed by demonstrations in the afternoon from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The day
concludes with group critiques at 3:00 PM, fostering a collaborative learning
environment.
On Day 5, participants will focus on gathering
a portfolio of image resources to be used as reference material for their
future work. Appointments will be available at Finn Artists Studio to assist in
preparing photos for painting, ensuring that artists are well-equipped for
their creative endeavors.
